It’s free and it’s pretty simple to get started. I haven’t used Parallels, but I’ve used an emulator called VirtualBox. If your computer can handle it though, emulation is definitely more reliable. However, emulation is inherently more resource intensive so your computer would need more power to handle it. The big advantage to using an emulator is that you’re running applications in Windows, so you won’t run into the compatibility issues that you would with Wine or Crossover. Your other option is to use a Windows emulator like Parallels. However, both are worth looking into and are generally easier to get working than using a Windows emulator. I’ve personally used Wineskin Winery, which is open source, and that served me pretty well. I haven’t used Crossover much, so I can’t compare it against Wine, but if I’m not mistaken Crossover is powered by Wine and is just a more professional version of a Wine wrapper. So it really depends on what you want to play and how many other people have tried to get it to work too. Some apps work great and some are a pain to just then running, if they run at all. However, support for apps is really hit or miss due to how it works. This is the least resource intensive since you don’t have to emulate an entire OS to run it.

I must say Windows 10 is very nice and simple to use after decades of hating Windows with a passion I actually enjoy using it, albeit only on a Mac and my Mac Pro cylinder runs Steam and the likes of GTA V very well indeed. The easiest by far was a new Mac Pro cylinder which literally did everything unattended up to where the Windows welcome screen takes over. All good fun but not one Mac I used was the same procedure. This I cured by actually removing the partition Boot Camp had created using Terminal and allowing Windows to see a area of 'free space' which it then formatted correctly and went well after that. Each Mac seems to have different methodologies and some such as my Mac mini 2012 failed at the last stage due to an EFI issue according to the Windows installation setup.

I've added Boot Camp and Windows 10 to a whole bunch of Macs ranging in age I would add that a MacBook Pro 2010 cannot use an iso insisting on using an optical disk.
